NovoTTF device for treatment of patients with recurrent glio-blastoma (GBM) were presented as a late breaking abstract during the Neuro-Oncology session at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting. Study results show that NovoTTF, a portable medical device, is more effective than the best available chemotherapies for GBM, but without the toxicity usually associated with cytotoxic or targeted treatments.
NovoTTF device for treating supra-tentorial Glio-blastoma Multiform (GBM) tumors was used after surgery and radiation treatment on 237 patients with glio-blastoma tumors that had recurred despite previous treatments – achieved a comparable higher survival time to patients treated with the physician’s choice of the best chemotherapy. Patients treated with NovoTTF reported better quality of life and fewer side effects compared to patients treated with chemotherapy. http://www.novocuretrial.com/science.html See a video on the effect of Novo TTF treatment mechanism on cancer cells at > http://www.novocuretrial.com/mechanism%20of%20action.html
